P2P Solutions Prefer SIP or XMPP (Jingle) for Signaling

This is just the beginning when I am more versed in the P2P side and find reasons for scalability or something else: SIP or XMPP (Jingle) for the following use:

A P2P client application capable of performing file transfer on all network tracing scenarios.
