Are there such good C compilers that fortran becomes a redundant language?

It’s just interesting, as I always thought, to use Fortran in a supercomputer. However, I often hear that C compilers can do C as fast as Fortran, is this a limitation?

Also, if so, what are the fastest C compilers?

Thanks in advance.
