Introduction to jBPM

Part of the existing system uses jBPM at work, and the new module I need to build needs it. However, I have no idea where to start in order to learn how to work with him.

I have access to JBoss 4 on the server and all I need to do local development. I have no experience with anything JBoss, be it server, jBPM, etc.

The only thing that looks like a tutorial that I can find is a user manual, which seems to suggest that you have meaningful knowledge that I can do to use it. I also never used Ant (besides running some prebuilt build scripts from the IDE) or JHibernate, which seem important to me to figure this out.

They give me about a week to find out everything I have.

What would be a good starting point, either a book, or a website to learn how to use JBoss and co.?

You can read the Mauricio Salatino jBPM Developer Guide . Well written book for JBPM 3.2.
For JBPM 4.4, you can read only one chapter for Spring Enterprise Recipe for JBPM 4.4.
