How to communicate between Firefox add-ons and the Android process?

I want to write a Firefox mobile add-on that should communicate or call some Android program with some data. I want to know what is the best way to communicate between the Firefox addon and the Android process. One of the ways that I can think of is to write data to the clipboard from the addon and continuously poll for the clipboard from the android process, but this is not the most efficient way. So, any other ideas, please.
