What is the difference between a string, a record, and a tuple?

I am currently studying a database development course, and I am having problems with his voice!

My course notes describe a tuple as: A tuple is a relationship string

From what I understood after working with MySQL, you are looking for row (s). Or when browsing a database, you are viewing rows in a table.

And from what I understood, a record is information inside a line.

Are there any differences between the three?

I know that someone posted something similar, but I could not understand his answer.

Thanks for the help in advnce!

In your context, these are different words that mean the same thing.

A tuple, in general, means an ordered list with possibly repeating elements (as opposed to a set that has all unique elements and is not ordered)

They are the same.

A row, also called a record or tuple, is a single, implicitly structured data element in a table.

They mean the same thing: a tuple, rows, or records.

Your SELECT query will generate results that may contain 0 or more rows / records or tuples. A SELECT query can span 1 or more tables
