How to add an additional language for Android?

Can I add additional languages on Android? My current Android phone only supports English and Chinese. I would also like to have Dutch, as I can use it to complete the word. The question is, how easy is it to switch between these languages in the graphical interface for entering text (keyboard)?

In Android 2.2, you can enter several languages and switch, moving to space. Go to Settings under “Language and Keyboard” and then “Android Keyboard”, “Input Language”.

Hope this helps.

Do not agree with the posts above. I have a Hero with only English available and I want Spanish.

I installed MoreLocale 2, and it has many different languages (among them Dutch). I choose Spanish, Sense UI reboots, and EVERYTHING on my phone changes to Spanish: menus, settings, etc. The text of the smart text on the keyboard defaults to Spanish and begins to suggest words in Spanish. This means that somewhere inside the OS a Spanish dictionary is hidden, and MoreLocale made it available.

The problem is that English is still the only option available in keyboard language, so I can switch to English, but I can’t go back to Spanish unless I restart the Sense interface, which takes a couple of minutes, so it’s not a very practical solution .

Look for an easier way to do this, please help.

Space offset only works if you have selected more than one input language.

In this case, a space will also indicate the selected language and display arrows to indicate that Sliding will change the selection.

It quickly and easily replaces the dictionary.

The first answer seems vague.

I just found a Scandinavian keyboard as a great solution to this problem. It also has an English and German keyboard, but neither Dutch nor Spanish - but I think they can be added. And I think there are other alternatives.

I do not know about the sliding of a space. I have a small box to the left of my keyboard that indicates which language is selected (when choosing English, it shows EN words with a small microphone on top. Being that I also have Spanish as one of my languages, I just use this and he moves back and forth from Spanish to English.
