I am developing a mobile web application. I currently have this jQuery code snippet that checks if the application is running in full screen mode:
if ( !window.navigator.standalone )
{
$('#content').before( '<div class="notice">To enjoy the mobile experience to its fullest, tap the arrow button on the toolbar below, choose <b>Add to Home Screen</b>, then launch it from there.</div>' );
}
I have a few questions:
- Does it work
window.navigator.standaloneon Android phones? - How can a user add a mobile web application to their home screen? I tried looking for screenshots for the browser, but could not find reliable sources.
Is there an equivalent apple-touch-icon iPhone link element? Found the answer to this question .
