Android abstract activity in manifest

Question

For my application, I am going to create many abstract classes extending the classes android.app.Activity and android.app.Service.

• When I subclass my abstract classes, how do I add them to the android manifest?
• Do I need to add both an abstract class and my subclass to the manifest or only a subclass?
• Do they need to be in the same package?
