How can I only mark changes in TFS?

We plan to move from StarTeam to TFS for version control and in the process of improving our ALM procedures. Perhaps I misunderstand how labels work in TFS, but it looks like you can apply a shortcut to files using a set of changes. I am trying to create a label on only files / versions in a special set of changes .

I tried to do it like this: 1) Main menu → Source control → Apply shortcut 2) The “New label” dialog box will appear 3) Leave the path as it is (Dev branch) 4) Select “Change set” in the “Version” drop-down menu, enter my changeset # 5) Click Create.

..., which causes the entire branch to become tagged. The set of changes can be 1 - 100 with files, so individual files with the inscription are inappropriate.

We do this all the time in starteam: change the shortcuts associated with the functions, and then move the assembly label to the marked change set. Am I missing something? (Thanks for any recommendations)

Pay attention to the name ... you are tagged with changes without putting a set of changes.

Marking in TFS is like a timestamp. So when you label with a set of changes, you basically say that this is what my source control looked like at the moment.

This is similar to your area, saying that you want to find a changeet (changeet) not everything at the moment when the set of changes was made.

You can choose a branching strategy that allows you to use the function. The disadvantage of this is that it will include a lot of mergers.
