What does the Win32 API completely disable task manager?

That is, even if you press Ctrl+ Alt+ Del, Windows Task Manager does not appear.

While the user can log in and enable it again, you can install this registry key 1

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\DisableTaskmgr

(\ System \ and DisableTaskmgr may not exist, so create them, DisableTaskmgr should be the DWORD32 key)

  • Ctrl-Alt-Del ( Windows, , )
  • Install your own idle task manager (ProcessExplorer does this, so it should work)
  • Remove the read-execute permission from the taskmanager executable file (this is confirmed, I did it by accident by chance)

Obviously, all three “solutions” are super-intrusive and supernatural in nature, so you should think 10 times before doing anything like that. And if you do, don’t complain if you break your system.
