Launch a WPF application from a link in a browser?

We have a requirement to start a WPF application with certain parameters from a link in a browser.

We are wondering if this is possible?

Alternatively, could we embed the web application in a WPF browser control and read the values from the html web page?

Several possibilities:

  • if you control the browser (i.e. if you are on an intranet script and have the ability to deploy applications), you can:
    • create an activex or plugin that launches the application
    • register a new uri scheme to interpret a URL like "yourapplication: // yourarguments"
    • (): , , -
    • ( )
  • :

    • clickonce... ,
  • Silverlight , . SilverLigth V5 ( -)
