In a recent PDC, Anders announced:
- We plan to release the product "C # 5" and the product "VB 11". The exact names of the products have not yet been announced, as far as I know.
- We assume that the "big ticket" function in C # 5 and VB 11 will be improved by asynchronous programming.
- A prototype version of async is available for public download.
- In the future, we plan to release the compiler as a service API for C # and VB. You should not expect it to be sent concurrently with C # 5 / VB 11; they are separate products.
Anders did not specifically declare:
- When we plan to ship any of these products
- What "ship" they will leave; We have not announced a new version of the IDE or CLR.
- What additional features, if any, will be added in C # 5 or VB 11.
For more information about asynchronous functions in C #, see the C # Developer Center or read Async articles on this subject.
