Mimic Slow Internet Connection (Mac)

Does anyone have a good technique for checking sites over a slower connection in osx?

After looking at the messages, some people recommended inaccurately that it doesn’t seem to do anything, it just loads sites at normal speed. Any other methods out there? I have a 50 megabyte broadband connection, and now it's hard to judge page speed.

The Dummynet video demo is used to throttle IP video streaming to OSX. According to the website , it is already installed in standard OSX. As Jeff Foster said , the same question is on SuperUser . There I also found the ThrottledCLI proposed by Robbie .

This can help you simulate 3G on a Mac:

sudo ipfw add pipe 1 src-port http
ipfw pipe 1 config delay 200 bw 700kbit/s

Delete these settings and return to normal speed:

ipfw flush
