How to change NAMEDATALEN configuration after installing PostgreSQL 9.0?

I support some legacy PostgreSQL 8.3 / 4 databases and port them to several new Windows Server 2008 hardware.

I was informed that the NAMEDATALEN value should be higher than the default value.

As I understand it, the NAMEDATALEN configuration does not exist in the configuration file, but it needs to be configured to compile the application.

After installing PostgreSQL 9.0 in a new window, I wonder if it is possible to change this configuration after the fact?
