Why don't WPF controls have a Tag property?

I think that all WinForm controls have a Tag property, which I found very convenient in some cases. However, this tag property seems to have disappeared for WPF controls such as DataGrid. Can anyone explain why? Is there a better way in WPF to accomplish this?

WPF controls have Tag -property (due to the base class). However, with the concept of DataContext, the tag property is no longer very important.
