I am developing a basic but very customized CRM for a small training center that has the ability to store student notes and send them emails. I use SwiftMailer after this excellent tutorial in CakePHP to complete part submission.
Of course, students sometimes respond to emails, and I would like to receive them in my CRM and store them together with the student record.
However, I cannot find any links for this. I tried the following Google search queries: "receiving cakephp email", "receiving cakephp email", and even "cakephp email client", but all these queries give results related to sending mail and not receiving it - very annoying!
Finally, I expanded my search with solutions other than cake, and found someone recommending a library called ezComponents. It doesn't seem to have had active development for about a year, but it does include an email receiving class, which is exactly what I want. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to add this to CakePHP and the only message I could find on the entire web page on this subject is definitely not in a lot of details. This, of course, is not a step-by-step guide on using ezComponents on CakePHP, like the SwiftMailer tutorial I mentioned above.
I also found a class in Google Code called php-imap that looks like it did the job, but again, I have no idea how to make it work happily in Cake, like SwiftMailer.
