I made a proof of concept for comprehensive conversion to SSIS. Now I have performance indicators for this POC that I created in a virtual machine, with 1 gigabyte memory, 1 base. SSIS conversions are file-based (source and target).
Now I want to use this metric to select the correct number of cores and memory in a production environment.
What would be the right strategy to determine the correct number of cores and memory for production if I know the number of files per day and the total file size per day for conversion?
(edit) Think of the total transfer sizes of 100 gigabytes and 5,000 files per day!
