I take the class of computer systems as a preliminary reserve for my masters and stumbled upon what I found fascinating and difficult to access for practical use, and this is a “fake subtraction” and the fact that there is no need to be a subtraction instruction.
Sort of:
x - y
It can be written as:
x + (~ y + 1)
Now that all is well and good, but it seems that it is too difficult for a simple subtraction, especially when you just can simply put "xy". Are there situations where this needs to be done, or is it just what CAN be done, but it is not.
