Comparison of 2 one-dimensional signals

I have the following problem: I have 2 signals over time. They are from the same source, so they must be the same. I want to check if they really are.

Complications:

  • they can be measured at different sample rates
  • start / end time does not correlate. Measurement does not start at the same time and ends at the same time.
  • there may be a time offset between two signals.

My thoughts are on the Fourier transform, convolutions, and statistical methods for comparison. Can someone post me links where I can find more information on how to handle this?

  • linux, , , , file . , wav , , .

  • If the signals are shifted in time relative to each other, you can try to collapse one with the delta function with an increase in delay and then comparison. On MATLAB, convand allshould be good enough.

These are just “rude” attempts (almost like cracking a problem). There may be algorithms that are shear, which can improve performance.

Hope this helps.
