Receiving decibels from android microphone

I searched for quite a while, and I was unable to find a way to get the SPL / db value from the microphone on Android. A few threads and articles that I found that discussed this looked at it somehow, so it is obvious that someone should do this, and more concerned about the correctness of their conversion algorithms. Does anyone know how to do this?

You will need to first disable any automatic level control. I suppose you either know or know where to look to find out how to record samples from a microphone without an ALC.
