CA1709 - Should I ignore this and use Db or DB?

I know this sounds silly, but with respect to CA1709, should I ignore this error and just do what Microsoft did (which uses Db as an abbreviation for the database)?

Just wondering what people are doing. It seems to me stupid to use DBwhen Microsoft uses DBeverywhere.

That doesn't really matter, does it? Choose what you like best, but then make sure you use it consistently. With coding and naming rules, it's basically about choosing the one you like and being consistent

Quote from Brad Abrams in the excellent Wireframe Design Guide :

... I heard all possible excuses for violating these names guidelines. [...] For the most part, our clients saw places where we disagreed with these guidelines (even for the best excuse) in the form of warts as part of the Framework.
