What version of JavaScript (ECMAScript) implements the Java Rhino implementation (and what is an update policy?)

Which version of the ECMAScript standard supports JavaScript Rhino support from JavaScript, how much work goes into fixing errors and maintaining synchronization in accordance with the latest standardized version?

Note: this question is far outdated and not useful.

The question was asked in 2011, and the JDK (as of the end of fall 2015) no longer wears Rhino; the question was about JDK 1.6, although JDK 1.7 was released in a couple of weeks.
