Rails 3 Server on EC2

I am trying to set up a production server for a rails 3 application on a single instance of amazon ec2, and I am wondering which route it is.

I'm new to deploying rails applications - are there any existing ami that I can use for rails3?

Any advice / wisdom / advice appreciated - thanks!

I would suggest using a proven AMI AMI, such as Rightscale . You cannot use Rightscale as a service, but their AMIs are fairly stable and reliable.

UPDATE: I suggest using CentOS 6 based Amazon Linux machine

Ubuntu has a nice guide to EC2 and Ubuntu images. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EC2StartersGuide

Also see http://alestic.com/ I just installed one of these images on my free EC2 usage level without any problems.
