I get this problem for almost 4 hours, becoming very upset. I passed the test and revoked my certificates and profiling 3 times now and started from scratch. I also ensured that my project was configured to use the DISTRIBUTION profile. I revoked and deleted my development certificate / prof, so I could not select it by accident. My mobileprofile file is being copied correctly. I am using Xcode 4.0.2. I started a new project and dumped the files there, and I have the same problem.
I have super-double-triple checked the instructions for obtaining certificates. Created secret keys, sent the file to the developer's development portal, received the certificate back, uploaded and matched my private key .. deleted all the inappropriate keys. Removed all old provisioning profiles that were saved in MobileProfile / ..

One note: I installed the beta version of Xcode 4.2, not sure if this might cause problems? I used the provided script and completely removed the developer beta tools and installed Xcode 4.0.2 again.
