I have a string that is saved as rich text in an SQL field, so it has many characters in front of it, for example ...
{\ rtf1 \ ansi \ ansicpg1252 \ deff0 \ deflang1033 {\ fonttbl {\ f0 \ fswiss \ fprq2 \ fcharset0 Calibri;} {\ f1 \ fnil \ fcharset0 Verdana;}} {\ colortbl; \ red0 \ green0 \ blue255;} \ viewkind4 \ uc1 \ pard \ sa200 \ sl276 \ slmult1 \ f0 \ fs22 Blah Blah Blah \ par
I pass this to Crystal Reports 11.5 as a parameter field, so the data type is a string. Then I just show it by dragging the parameter into the report. The interpretation for RTF is also set on the paragraph tab of the formatting settings.
My problem is that it removes the formatting tags, but it twists the text. This is a random distortion of words and inserting characters like the letter โiโ randomly in the words, as well as adding random letters in the background after other words, which makes it look like it was printed manually, if that makes sense, just makes the word look unreadable and bold as someone typed it with a typewriter.
I tried to install a new text object, and then put a rich text parameter displayed in it, but then it does not remove / does not execute formatting tags for large text.
What gives? Obviously, it makes rich text because it removes tags, but what is a random deal I inserted into words and a couple of instances of confused text over other words?
