Javascript debugger for PhoneGap

Although PhoneGap is a very fast way to build applications, debugging is becoming difficult. Is there a good debugging / testing tool for javascript written for PhoneGap, such as tools for IE developers?

There is a way to switch to mobile debugging to get both the desktop, but weinre and ripple are the closest I've seen.

Weinre checks web pages on a remote device (no breakpoints). Ripple is a Chrome plug-in that uses simulation to launch and debug mobile apps in the Chrome browser.
