Can Jenkins send an email notification with the app?

Can Jenkins send mail to notify recipients with attachments? More important to me (optional), it can also read from the * .xls file and add this to the email text.

Or can I add data from my system variable that is sent by the jenkins (ext mail) plugin?

New answer, as of September 2011: Yes . Problem 9018 has been resolved.

Starting with version 2.15 of the Jenkins email plugin, you can send attachments to Jenkins creation notifications. See Jenkins Wiki here:
