Send email to user’s custom field on change in JIRA tracker?

We have user user fields (for example, Business Analyst, Developer, etc.) in JIRA, and we would like to be able to send email to these users when they are assigned to one of these fields. I looked at the JIRA wiki and could not find a way to do this.

I know that this is possible with the "Assault Assigned" event, but in this case the JIRA is not assigned, since we use custom fields.

Is it possible?
