Newsletter does not display correctly

I am new to CSS and HTML. I have an email template with HTML and CSS code. I put a pink circle in my newsletter template in the upper right corner: http://www.pedersenshotell.se/newsletter/

It looks fine in Firefox, Opera, etc., but when I upload it to a mailing list campaign and send it to Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook and Hotmail, it looks so ugly. It shows a square box instead of a circle. What for?

HTML email is hard stuff. Email clients are often not regular browsers, they do not render HTML correctly, and you will be surprised why a normal thing (like background) does not work there.

Web services remove / block parts for security reasons, etc.

I would stick with HTML 3.2 or simpler HTML solutions that are very unpleasant for me, and I recommend that you use Fractal , which is an email authentication service to verify your work.

You can get tips from the Email Standards Standard to find out which features are supported and which are not.

There are some good template templates for creating HTML emails. Take a look at http://www.emailology.org/#1 or https://github.com/seanpowell/Email-Boilerplate and use these templates as a starting point.
