Windows Mobile 6.5, access to files outside the emulator

I am working on a Windows Mobile 6.5 application that uses the SQL compact database, which I want to copy from the emulator back to the host. How can you access emulator files directly from the host?

The easiest mechanism is to configure the emulator to share the desktop folder.

  • Launch the emulator of choice, then go to File-> Configure.
  • On the General tab, below is a text box that says "Public Folder"
  • Map it to a folder somewhere on the desktop. A storage card will be installed on the device.
