CSS: floating two div elements with 100% screen width?

I remember how often I asked this question, but I can not find it again! I searched, but I can not find the solution that I am looking for.

Let's say I have two divs with a width of 100% that are located next to each other. When they occupy the entire width of the screen, they no longer have room for swimming, so the second div appears below the first. I want the second div to continue floating from the screen next to the first.

I think the solution I got was to set the display property to something else, but I'm not quite sure.

Any suggestions?
