WPF application completely freezes within 1 minute

I have the following, very strange problem with my WPF application in production:

  • The client reports that the program is very slow. Sometimes the whole interface freezes for about one minute.
  • During this “freeze,” CPU activity is absent. Other programs are still working fine.
  • The problem always occurs when the user is physically located at the PC. That is, when I log in using RDP or TeamViewer, the problem is very difficult to reproduce, although I saw how this happens.
  • To do this is even more strange: this company has about 40 computers with the same equipment. Only 5 of them have this problem (PC: HP Compaq 6000 Pro Small Form Factor)

In a few days I’ll visit the company to have physical access to the PC.

One note: this program works for about 1000 companies without problems, which makes me think that there is a problem with the hardware.

How would you diagnose such a problem? What tools? Any hints or pointers?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I tried different of them. In this case, a comment from Ray was most useful, he said:
