Compare strings with one that has empty spaces, until the other

If I need to find a string name "Akito"and it is in the foo table, then the following normal procedure,

select * from foo where `name = 'Akito'`

I tried to check two of his options,

Works fine

select * from foo where name = 'Akito   '

Fine does not work

select * from foo where name = '    Akito'

Can someone explain why the second one didn't work?
