Google Contacts Only (OAuth 2.0)

Question

We use OAuth 2.0 to access Gmail contacts. Do you know whether it is possible to request access (scope) in such a way that the authorization pop-up window indicates that we need read-only access.

At the moment, the pop says "Contact Management" - view and manage your Google contacts. This “managed” part discourages many users, while all we need to do is view them.

So far, we have tried the following areas, but the popup is the same ("Contact Management"): - https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/ - https://www-opensocial.googleusercontent.com/api/people

Yes, there is, just use it https://www.googleapis.com/auth/contacts.readonlyas a scope and it will say “View contacts”.

For contacts, the lowest degree of reach Google has is read / write. Read-only access is not available.
