Download the latest CodePlex project

I am writing an updater for other software. This updater downloads / installs updates for these program extensions (my updater, in fact, is just another extension).

Some of these extensions are CodePlex projects. Others are just people's personal sites or their company website, etc. Point, there is no central extension repository.

I'm having trouble downloading updates hosted by CodePlex because I can't just find the url that returns / loads the latest version. For instance. on this page there is a big green button "Download". All I want for any given CodePlex project is a URL that I can hit that will download the latest version (for example, this “Download” button after a tedious request).

I created a CodePlex function request for this , but it was not updated and did not have the other hundreds of requests that people had for this site.

In general, I want something like this:

http://coolestProjectEver.codeplex.com/download

This link will return / download the latest version of this project without any questions / hints.

Any ideas what I can do?
