Ideas for Deploying Many Social Games

I am struggling with the following scenario: We are a team that is developing an experimental social game on Facebook. Our team is scattered all over the world, and many times we would like to have an automated mechanism for deploying a function branch immediately after committing.

I think this is something similar to a CI solution, but more difficult. For the case (we use git), we want developers to be able to "automatically" expand their function branch in facebook for discussion in the skype style, taking into account the latest developments.

Our interface is Flash, and our server is Google App Engine. Our CDN is Amazon S3.

Any ideas?

You should use a continuous integration solution such as Atlassian Bamboo, Jenkins, or Hudson.

I would recommend the following setting (this will definitely work with Bamboo):

  • You create an assembly / testing / deployment plan for the main branch.
  • Duplicate this plan for each developer. branch of each team member and adjust the repository settings for cloning from the corresponding branch.
  • Configure build plans to run upon completion or perform a nightly build.
