MS docs are clear as mud (and strings with class names are not referenced very often), I was wondering if the class name for Win32 is the window class really case sensitive?

They are not case sensitive. Window class names are ATOMS string and according to MSDN ,

  • Case does not matter when searching for the name of an atom in the atom table. In addition, the entire string must match the search operation; no substring is executed.
  • , , 255 . .
