A method that allows one child view to overflow the boundaries of the viewport?

The following screenshot illustrates a simple example of what I have now:

What I would like to achieve is that the selected (blue) view will not be cropped at the border of the red container. My first attempt was clipChildren = "false", which causes the blue view to expand beyond its borders, filling the red area. I just want to see the part superimposed on the green zone.
