Is there a way to change the default vim mode

Does anyone know how to change the default vim mode? Its default mode is command mode, but can I change it to insert mode?

You can try "insertmode" (add set insertmodeto your .vimrc file), although I recommend that you study the standard vi operation, because not all vi-like editors support this mode of operation.
