Google maps js

So check out any Google Maps result as follows: http://g.co/maps/htdva

If you hover over the marker, you will get a hint. If you click on it, you will get a big warning. I have an infowindow that works fine: stack overflow

Here is a mini tooltip and info window: enter image description here

Here is the jsFiddle daemon: http://jsfiddle.net/3VMPL/

Set the title property of the marker to the desired tooltip.

var tooltip = "some text";
marker = new google.maps.Marker({map:map, position:position, title:tooltip});

You can only do this with CSS, but warn that it is pretty hacked and may stop working at any time if Google changes the markup:

.gmnoprint[title] {
  overflow: visible !important;
  opacity: 1 !important;
}

.gmnoprint[title]:after {
  content: attr(title);
  /* Style your tooltip */
}
Run code
