We use the RISRITE IIS 7.5 URL with classic ASP. Everything works correctly 99% of the time, however, completely sporadically, the pages of our site will fall into the redirect cycle for no apparent reason.
Meaning: we have articles that handle the fine in 99% of cases, but, like this morning, when accessing one article (out of a thousand), the browser says "the page is not redirected properly." I use Firefox, but this happens for all users in all browsers. This also happens on the website’s home page and on other pages, so it does not seem to be related to a specific rewrite rule template, but rather to the rule rewrite mechanism in general.
Resetting IIS immediately solves the problem, and the page (s) are loaded with a fine. Resetting IIS seems to be the only way to fix this problem when this happens.
IIS logs feature 301 redirects for any page. In this case, thousands of 301 redirect journal entries were recorded on one page of the article. Reset IIS fixed behavior.
Has anyone else had this problem or any ideas on how to solve it?
