What is the easiest way to install a chrome extension to record microphone sound?
I see that there is an experimental experimental speech input API , but why don't you have access to the recorded file? It seems that connecting to it should be fairly simple, since it was a step earlier in the process, no? Moreover, there is also an API for converting text to speech, so you can efficiently record text, and then the computer talks about it, but if you do not want a standard voice, how lame, redundant and error prone is that?
Then there seems to be flash solutions like this , but how can I use this in the chrome extension without having to configure anything on the server side? (since in fact I do not need to send anything to the server - all this is local and on the client side)
Is NPAPI possible? Is there such a plugin ready-made?
I don’t know of other possible alternatives ( HTML5 is not ready yet, it seems ), but I welcome something functional and simple to implement and cling to the chrome extension.
