WEPopoverController presentPopoverFromBarButtonItem causes the specified UIBarButtonItem to disappear

Question

I started using the WEPopoverController to display some controls after clicking the UIBarButtonItem button on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. The popsor is displayed normally, and the controls inside the popover work, however, as soon as the popover is displayed, the UIBarButtonItem is bound to disappear!

Here's the code to display, it's pretty simple:

WEPopoverController *wePopover = [[WEPopoverController alloc] initWithContentViewController:audioController];
[wePopover setPopoverContentSize:CGSizeMake(200, 150)];
[wePopover presentPopoverFromBarButtonItem:voiceButton permittedArrowDirections:UIPopoverArrowDirectionDown animated:YES];

It will work if I use presentPopoverFromRect, but this is not an ideal solution.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?
