POS printer OPOS interface and when to use it

I am developing a POS system for cafe-bars-restaurants. It works fine, but I have some problems with the printer. People here suggest using POS for .NET.

But I can not, because:

  • My client has a machine with a home version of Windows as a server. Thus, POS for .NET was out of luck in one of its two stores.

  • Previous software he printed on thermal printers using GDI graphics. But too slowly, I didn’t know why .. you had to wait 10 seconds to print the receipt.

  • I get complaints because the font is a bit small using these printers. (42 characters 80 mm). And it is true. Native printer font is too high. All the printers that I see suck because they are made up of a good brand. Also, the guys who developed the fonts were too bored to use Latin letters mixed with the local ones. But the prints from the graphic mode look WAY WAY WAY better and anti-aliased, smooth and transparent and almost the same speed.

  • Printers do not have OPOS.NET drivers. I sent emails to the Chinese companies that produce these printers, and said that they have not yet developed one of them.

  • Some of these printers do not support some basic ESC / POS commands! The paper feed problem is the problem. Only newer printers are almost compatible, but older ones do not fit at all.
