Berkeley DB error: je.lck file cannot be locked

Question

We encounter a ff error when starting a java program using berkeley db server.

"The environment cannot be locked to access a single entry. ENV_LOCKED: the file je.lck cannot be locked. The environment is invalid and must be closed."

Any idea what the cause of the error is and how we can fix it.

Your Berkeley DB is configured for "write access". You must have another process already written on it and effectively blocking it.
