Filter infrared sources from Android camera image

I am trying to find out if there is any infrared source from the camera on an Android device. (Namely infrared LED) Since the camera captures infrared light (I see that the LEDs light up in the preview / pictures), I thought it should be somehow possible to find out if the camera is currently taking infrared signals, but since the IR the color is "somehow" converted to visible colors (magenta), this is apparently not as simple as finding out if the image has purple, because it can be real purple, not infrared.
The Android link tells me that I can get the image in different image formats (YCbCr, YUV, ...), but none of these formats seem to help. Now my idea is to somehow get the "original" data from the camera, which still includes information about what is infrared and what is not or basically return the conversion of infrared radiation to visible light, which, according to Apparently happens automatically in the background. Any idea on how I can achieve this?
