How to clear the / inode directory cache on MacOSX

How to clear the file system cache (e.g. directory cache and inode cache) on Mac OSX? I would like to conduct a performance analysis on a cold MacOSX machine. I am wondering if there is any approach like echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_cachesin a Linux container?

is there purge(8)any use for you?

Purge can be used to approximate initial boot conditions by using a cold disk buffer cache for performance analysis. This does not affect anonymous memory that has been allocated via malloc, vm_allocate, etc.

I think there are two good programs for this. Try OnyX or Yasu.
