ExceptionInInitializerError in an Android app?

Question

In my Android application, the WebView activity class has the following line,

webView.addJavascriptInterface(new JSInterface(this), "Android");   

And in the JSInterface class, I initialize Google "SpreadSheetService", as shown below,

import com.google.gdata.client.spreadsheet.SpreadsheetService;

public class JSInterface {
    Context mContext;

    public SpreadsheetService service;

    /** Instantiate the interface and set the context */
    JSInterface(Context c) {
        mContext = c;
        service = new SpreadsheetService("List Demo");
    }

When I run the application, I get the following exception,
