Is the function parameter important in LibSVM function vectors?

I am considering using LibSVM , and I am creating the necessary feature vectors. Almost all data examples have an order for functions, for example:

+1 1:3 2:1 3:5 4:2 10:8

I wonder if this ordering is important, for example:

+1 4:2 10:8 2:1 1:3 3:5

Although both of your entries are equivalent, LibSVM requires that function identifiers are sorted in ascending order - I suppose this has I / O reasons.
