Why do local MAMP PRO developer sites run slower in Firefox and Chrome?

I cannot understand why when browsing the local sites where I provided the virtual (.dev) hostname, they are so slow in Firefox and Chrome ... but not in Safari. It takes about 5 seconds to load each page in FF and C ... but absolutely every time in Safari.

Does anyone have any ideas that I could try. Would it be very helpful?

None of this was there, but it was! Finally....

To fix, in your hosts file you need to list all the local development sites in a line with space separators, for example ...

127.0.0.1 localhost localsite1.dev localsite2.dev localsite3.dev

Instead of one entry per line, as by default.

, ipv6 /etc/hosts :

127.0.0.1     6drudev.localhost
::1           6drudev.localhost
fe80::1%lo0   6drudev.localhost
127.0.0.1     7drudev.localhost
::1           7drudev.localhost
fe80::1%lo0   7drudev.localhost

YMMV, .

I'm not right now if this fixes the problem indefinitely, but time will tell.
